"The Trace" is a poem that pays homage to Marie Curie, inspired by the film "Radioactive." In it, within the complex simplicity of poetry, we explore radioactivity, love, and death.
The Trace
“Only in births and deaths where one leaves time behind.”
Rosa Montero
To the left side of the bed
is the trace
carved in supine position
heavy and gleaming
from a peaceful sleep
I imagine
the body that gave it shape
livid matter
rigor mortis
bone
Pierre: all dust
and I stop breathing
not to wake him.
